JACQUES ERASMUS
BSc Physiotherapy (UP)
Jacques completed his BSc Physiotherapy degree at University of Pretoria in 1999.
He started his career as physiotherapist in the Military hospital and where he was mainly involved in the Physical Rehabilitation Unit.
From there he moved to Private Practice and was a founding member of the Rehabilitation Unit at UCT Private Academic Hospital.
In 2005, Jacques opened his own practice which has grown to the company it is today – Jacques Erasmus Physiotherapists Inc.
Jacques has a keen interest in various facets of physiotherapy, and has completed many post-graduate courses/workshops on musculoskeletal pain management, sport injuries, neuro-rehabilitation, and respiratory care.
Modalities utilized includes dry needling, manual therapy, taping (kinesio; dynamic) and relevant exercise therapy and advice. Jacques applies and shares his knowledge with students during student tutorials and supervision of University of Cape Town Physiotherapy Students.
On the international front, Jacques is a member of the International Wheelchair Rugby Federation (IWRF) Classification Committee as well as the Head of Classification for this sport in the Asia-Oceania Zone.
Jacques is married to a wonderful, loving wife and has two beautiful daughters. As a family they enjoy camping and outdoors.
